What I collect

  • Your email address, when you sign up. I also store the date you agreed, which page you signed up on and whether you confirmed. You only join the list after you click the link in the confirmation email.
  • Your streak, if you sign in with your email: the dates you took the daily quiz. Without signing in, your streak stays in your own browser (local storage) and I never see it.
  • A sign-in cookie called jd_session, set when you confirm your email or sign in. It keeps you signed in for up to 90 days.
  • Visit statistics through Umami, which I host myself. It counts page views and events such as quiz starts, quiz finishes, sign-ups and planner link clicks, with basic details like browser, device type, referrer and country. It does not use cookies or follow you around other sites.
  • Server logs: my web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses.

Why

  • To send you the emails you asked for, such as sign-in links, the Sunday 10 and challenge dates.
  • To save your streak.
  • To see which pages and tools are useful so I can improve them.

Who else handles your data

  • Email delivery: emails are sent through Gmail (Google). Google processes the messages I send you.
  • Google Fonts: pages load fonts from Google, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
  • Topmate: the planner is sold on Topmate. When you click a planner button, you leave this site. Topmate's own privacy policy applies there, and the link carries a small tag saying which page you came from.
  • Instagram: the Follow link goes to Instagram, which has its own policy.
  • Hosting: this site and its database run on a server I rent.

I do not sell your data and I do not share your email address with advertisers.

How long I keep it

Your email and streak stay until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.

Unsubscribe and delete

  • Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click stops the emails.
  • To have your data deleted, contact me from the email address you signed up with and I will delete it.

Your rights

TODO (owner): list the rights that apply where you and your readers live (for example access, correction and deletion), with the right legal wording.

Children

TODO (owner): state the minimum age for signing up.

If I change this page, I will update the date at the top.
